Over the past couple of years I've had many brides and grooms get in touch, and many of you ask very similar (and very important) questions. So I thought I'd make it easy and compile a FAQ, which may include some things you hadn't even thought of yet!
Are you insured?
Absolutely - this is essential for any professional wedding photographer.
Do you have backup equipment?
Yes - there is no way I will be taking any chances with equipment failure on your wedding day!
How long have you been shooting weddings?
I started in professional photography nine years ago when I was photographing live music for magazines and press. I started specialising in weddings and portraits over two years ago.
What happens if you are ill on the day?
I take the commitment to shoot your wedding very seriously and will do everything in my power to be there, even if I am unwell. However should the worst happen, I have access to a large community of professional wedding photographers who are readily available at short notice.
What kind of albums do you offer?
I only offer hardback, coffeetable storybook albums. I feel it is best to specialise in one area and to do it well and I feel this design works very well with my contemporary style. You are welcome to come to visit and view some sample albums.
Do you offer a CD of images? How many images are included?
I offer a CD of high res images with each package. Because I shoot digitally, I don't have a limit on the number of captures I can take during the day - however I do cut these down during the editing process to just the very best. Depending on the number of hours coverage, you can expect to receive anywhere between 150-400 beautiful photographs.
Can we use your photos on facebook, MySpace etc?
Sure - subject to you putting a link to my site with each image!
Do you offer retouching services?
I do some digital retouching during the editing stages as I see fit. Additional requests are costed at £75 p/h.
Will you visit the venue beforehand?
I include a venue visit in all my packages. Usually this is done with the couple - especially if we haven't met before the booking. It's a good idea so I can plan where to do portraits of the bride and groom, and to understand where best to place myself during the ceremony.
Do you offer engagement shoots?
A fantastic thing to do is to organise an engagement shoot during your venue visit with me. This gets you both warmed up to being in front of a camera and also results in some great photos that you can show off either as an album or on invitations etc. I also offer annual anniversary shoots which is a lovely way to tell the story of your new life together year on year. Both these kind of shoots are £250, but I offer a discount if you are also having your wedding with me.
If I book you for my wedding, when is the payment due?
To secure your date in my calendar I need a deposit of at least £250 in the form of a cheque - ask me for details. The full amount will then be due 30 days prior to your wedding date. Because there is high demand for key dates all deposits are non-transferable (you will have to pay another deposit if you change your mind and want a different date) and non-refundable, so be sure before you book! :)
Hi there!
Oops, you have stumbled across my old blog! I am now under www.rosieparsons.com/blog with a whole new fun look!
You can stay here and have a good look through some of the past weddings I've shot, but for the latest news and goings on you'll want to be over here!
Look forward to seeing you on the other side :)
